Be prepared to ask good questions of your interviewer.
The "Careers in Medicine" website has some excellent sample interview questions.
The Office for Mentoring and Student Development arranges for faculty to conduct mock videotaped interviews to help students prepare for residency interviewing. The interviews are approximately 30 minutes in length and are offered on two dates, one in September and one in October, which allows for all students, including those who are in the early match program, to participate.
The interviews are treated as the real thing – complete with appropriate dress. The faculty interviewer will have a copy of the student’s CV and personal statement.
Faculty conduct a 20-25 minute interview with an additional 5-10 minutes of critiquing student’s interviewing performance.
If you're interested in participating, watch for an email sent from Carlene Webb-Burton (cwebbbur@iupui.edu) in early August.
