For Guest Students
Elective units at Indiana University School of Medicine are scheduled from the first to the end of the calendar month. Generally, electives will not be considered for periods of study less than 30 days.
As of June 1, 2012, ALL medical students from LCME (MEDICAL DEGREE) SCHOOLS IN THE U.S. AND PUERTO RICO and COCA ACCREDITED AACOM MEMBER (DOCTOR OF OSTEOPATHY) COLLEGES must use the American Association of Medical Schools Visiting Student Application Service - VSAS: https://services.aamc.org/20/vsas/ - to apply for electives at Indiana University School of Medicine.
Please see the link below for more information. 2012-13 is the first year D.O. students can use the system so please inform the administration at your school of this policy and the need to become a VSAS member school. Applications for 2011-2012 will be accepted starting April 15, 2012. If you wish to apply for elective for the 2011-12 school year, please email medguest@iupui.edu for more information.
